2009Dear Students / Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. I am sure you are all as excited about 2009 as I am. I know this year is going to be a fantastic year for all of us. I know it is going to bring us all a lot of WEALTH, huge amount of SUCCESS and unlimited HAPPINESS. In order to achieve all of this and much more you have to make sure that you take MASSIVE ACTIONS.

MASSIVE ACTIONS = MASSIVE RESULTS

I am really fired up to take Massive Action this year and I would love for every member of Gurumu to do the same. I want all of us to say “2009 WAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL AND A MEMORABLE YEAR”, so what are we waiting for? LET JUST DO IT.

CLASSES TIMES
Please note that there are no changes to the class time and class time remain the same as 2008. Please find below the class times for 2009.

East Ham Centre
Monday & Wednesday

Monega Primary School
Monega Road
Manor Park
London
E12 6TT
5.30 pm to 7.15 pm – Children
7.15 pm to 9.30 pm – Juniors & Seniors

West Kensington Centre
Friday
Lillie Road Fitness Centre
Lillie Road
Fulham

London
SW6 7PH
5.15 pm to 6.45 pm – Children
6.45 pm to 9.00 pm – Juniors & Seniors

West Kensington Centre
Sunday
Fulham Centre
80 Lillie Road
West Kensington
W14
11.45 pm to 1.15 pm – Children
1.15 pm to 3.30 pm – Juniors & Seniors

CLUB FEES
There are no changes to the club fees for this year. See below for a full listing of the fees.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Children - £35.00 per annum (under 13 years)
Juniors & Adults - £45.00 per annum (13 years and above)

BTCB LICENCE
Children - £25.00 per annum
Juniors & Adults - £25.00 per annum

MONTHLY PAY (Members only)
Children - £36.00 per month
Juniors & Adults - £28.00 per month

PAY AS YOU TRAIN (Members only)
Children - £4.50 per session
Juniors & Adults - £5.50 per session

PAY AS YOU TRAIN (Non members)
Children - £5.50 per session
Juniors & Adults - £6.50 per session

Please note the following points in regards to membership, licence and payments:

1. It is your duty to ensure that you have a valid membership when paying monthly payment. If you membership is expired then you will have to pay the non members fees until your membership is renewed.

2. It is your duty to ensure that your BTCB Licence is valid / renewed at all times. Members whose licences are expired will not be able to train until it is renewed. THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE AND AT ALL TIMES.

3. Members paying monthly payment must submit their monthly fees on the FIRST SESSION of the month that they attend.

4. If class payments are not made at the beginning of the class then you will not be able to take part in the training session.

5. Full payments must be made in advance when ordering new equipments.

The above five points will certainly be enforced this year as the Gurumu management team spend unnecessary time and effort chasing up people for things that takes minute to complete. Always plan in advance and do not leave vital things to the last minute.

Finally, my aspiration for this year is far beyond what you can imagine. I will do anything to achieve my goals and targets for myself and for the club. I am only willing to work with members who are genuinely willing to progress in Taekwondo and in life, or who may need help (focus) to get them in the right direction. All I ask from you is for you to constantly do your best in everything that you are involved in whether it is Taekwondo or other activities in school.

YOU DO YOUR BEST AND I WILL DO THE REST, I PROMISE.

I am really looking forward to this year as I can already visualise many of you are going to achieve great things this year. We have dominated the club level championships in UK for many years and most recently Gurumu’s success at the 2008 National Taekwondo Championship where we lifted the 1st place team award was the icing on the cake.

Over the years Gurumu has developed slowly but very strongly in both traditional and competitive taekwondo. Gurumu has produced many champions at regional, national and international level but has also natured many talented individuals outside of this sport. May be they might not have been the best fighter but many Gurumu members have used taekwondo to develop themselves are respectable individuals in our society and in their professional careers and they have made a mark for themselves. It goes to show the greatness of our club and its members, we certainly have something special in Gurumu.

I have been requested by many members of the club (students, parents and well wishers) to organise an annual event where we gather as one family and celebrate the growth of the club, the achievements that our members have worked hard for and finally to relax and have some fun without kicking a pad or a person. Therefore we have decided to have an annual event at the beginning of the year to celebrate everyone’s success. Therefore we are Proud to Present the

1st Gurumu Annual Dinner & Dance and Award Ceremony

The full information of this event is details below. As many already know, Imagine This was turned down by publishers and agents, before being self-published.

Despite its humble roots in the obscurity of self-publishing, it has gone on to win the regional 2008 Commonwealth Writers Prize, best first book category. It has now been long listed for the World Book Day Campaign, Books to Talk About.

I know that many of the club members have read Sade’s book, including myself. Sade has worked extremely hard to get to where she and winning the regional 2008 Commonwealth Writers Prize just comes to show that her novel is not an ordinary one.

As Sade’s book has been long listed for the World Book Day, I feel that we truly should support our team mate and help her succeed in her dreams. All I ask you to do is to spread the word and click on the link below to vote and leave a comment if you've read her book and if you haven't then i suggest you buy one from either me or sade, read it then leave a comment.

Sade need everyone's help to get her book on to the short list, therefore please vote and lets prove that once in a while, the odds aren't always stacked against the ordinary person on the street.

Click on the link below:
www.spread-the-word.org.uk/pages/books-2009/book-detail.asp?BookID=17

"Helping others to succeed shows ones true passion for success."

Just IMAGINE if sade won the World Book Day prize.
